Principal’s Message

Principal Patrick Berry has been a middle school educator on three continents. He was one of the inaugural winners of the prestigious Big Apple Award for Teaching Excellence while teaching 7th and 8th grade ELA in Bedford-Stuyvesant’s District 16. Most recently, he has led the citywide DREAM program, where he helped thousands of middle school students gain entry to the city’s prestigious specialized high schools. Principal Berry has also worked for a national gun-violence prevention non-profit, for the U.S. Peace Corps, and as teacher development coach. He loves basketball, puzzle games and history and has a passion for helping students find their own voices and helping them become leaders.
